Registration Opens August 26th!

Thank you to the thousands of volunteers who joined us at Coastal Cleanup Day in 2018! 6,808 volunteers joined in at 106 sites to collect 138,499 pounds of debris.

Site Captains Needed to Lead Locations

We are searching for dedicated volunteers to help coordinate and lead cleanup sites! If you are interested in taking your volunteerism further and leading a site, please review the information on the Site Captain page and contact Lauren Short lshort@cleansd.org (619) 704-2772 for more information.

DIRECTIONS:
Coming from the North: Take I-5 South Take exit 9 for CA-54 E Take exit 2 for I-805 S Keep right at the fork, follow signs for I-805 S Take exit 3 for Main St. toward Auto Park Dr. Turn right onto Main St. Turn left onto Melrose Ave. Melrose Ave. becomes Rancho Dr. *Meeting Point: Gate 19 (Pipe gate). Coming from the South: Take I-805 N Take exit 3 for Main St. toward Auto Park Dr. Turn Left onto Main St. Turn Left onto Melrose Ave. Melrose Ave. becomes Rancho Dr. *Meeting Point: Gate 19 (Pipe gate). Park near 271-342 Rancho Drive, Chula Vista, CA 91911. If unavailable, park in overflow parking or near 1769 Rios Ave. There will be signs directing you to the worksite location at Gate 19.

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS:
Volunteers should wear cool long sleeve shirts and long pants with the appropriate footwear of closed toe shoes. Preferably, boots with good traction is recommended since we will be going up and down the embankment to the river. Hat, shades/eye protection, gloves are also advised. Please bring any medication, a reusable water bottle and your own snacks if you have a strict diet. Volunteers will be removing heavy debris from the area. All volunteers must sign two waivers - the Coastal Cleanup Day waiver and the City of San Diego's Volunteer Waiver - if you are under the age of 18, please reach out to ILACSD Coordinators for this form.

Reduce waste at this year's cleanup by bringing along your own bucket, work gloves, and reusable water bottle. Many of our sites strive to be "zero waste" and you can help them! Pro tip: look to salvage buckets from local sandwich shops or fast food chains!
